PROCEDURES FOR PRESCHOOL START UP

We love the opportunity to minister to your preschooler and to your family. The past year has presented us with many challenges. For a while our onsite preschool classes were unable to meet due to the pandemic situation. We are now able to provide for your preschooler at church on Sunday morning. We have taken every precaution to ensure that our classrooms are clean, sanitized, and safe for your child.  Please note the following procedures that we have instituted for your families health and safety:

  • Preschool classes will be provided for ages 2 through Kindergarten. We will not be providing childcare or teaching for children under the age of two at this time. We will be utilizing two classrooms.  Each classroom will have a maximum number allowed. This is to provide some distancing that will help to ensure the safety and health of children and teachers. Please be understanding of this from week to week. Preschoolers are accepted into the classroom at 10:15 AM.

  • Drop off and pick up should be done by one responsible adult. Ages 2 – 4 will be entering from the nursery end of the building. Age 5 (kindergarten) will line up at the kitchen end of the building. Greeters will be present to direct you.  Please line up at the appropriate door with 6 ft. spacing between each parent and child. A monitor will be at the door to direct you. At the classroom door, you will sign your child in and fill out a short form with necessary information. You will be given a numbered security lanyard that you will present to your child’s teacher when you pick your child up after the worship service.  A number will be placed on your child’s back that will match the number on your lanyard. When your child has been dropped off at the door of his/her classroom, please exit into the church foyer. NO ADULTS OTHER THAN TEACHING STAFF WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CHILD’S CLASSROOM.

  • Temperatures will be taken at the door as you enter. A temperature of 100 degrees or above will prohibit the child from entering the room. Parents are encouraged to take the child’s temperature before leaving home. If your child or a family member has been exposed to Covid 19 in the past 14 days or if your child has had any fever or other type of symptom in the past 72 hours, please do not bring your child to the classroom.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available to use at the classroom door as you drop your child off and as you pick your child up at the end of the worship service.

  • PLEASE LINE UP AT THE SAME OUTSIDE DOOR TO PICK YOUR CHILD UP. Only one adult per child should be responsible for pickup and must have the security lanyard in his/her possession. After picking your child up, you will exit into the church foyer and out the front doors.

  • PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK WHILE STANDING IN LINE AND DROPPING OFF THEIR CHILD. TEACHERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK. Disposable masks will be provided if needed. Parents and teachers should practice touchless greeting of other adults and children (no handshakes or hugs). Children who are Kindergarten age should wear a mask.

  • NO FOOD ITEMS WILL BE SERVED IN THE CLASSROOM AND ANY FOOD SHOULD BE CONSUMED OR DISPOSED OF BEFORE ENTERING THE CLASSROOM.
